carrying someone and entering their mind is not rape– and even if it was, where are all the people accusing rey of being a rapist, since she entered kylos mind as well? yall are completely silent about that though. wonder if it has anything to do with rey being a woman?

and if kylo knocking out a hostile and powerful entity by force pushing her is abuse (especially when she explicitly states that she wants to FUCKING KILL HIM, and will if given the chance) then where are all the people railing against rey for slashing him apart and leaving him to die???

but no, its just kylo being abusive and a rapist. fighting during a time of war is not abuse. entering someones mind is not rape. the whole “kylo being an abuser/rapist” logic is so intrinsically misogynistic that it hurts sometimes. IN EVERY INSTANCE OF KYLO ENGAGING WITH REY, HE WAS ACTING IN DEFENSE. 

no one ever calls rey abusive or a rapist because she’s a fucking woman, and yet she does the exact same things to kylo that he does to her (usually even more so/more violently). give me one other reason no one EVER calls rey the same things people call kylo, besides the fact that rey is a woman and women can do absolutely nothing wrong, and are only ever victims. right, antis? right, anon i never asked for the opinion of?

this isn’t to say that women who are strong CANT be abused or raped. it’s that your (antis) logic is centered around the fact that kylo kidnapped rey for information during a time of war, brought her literally no harm (in the novelization it explicitly states that during the interrogation she’s crying from the memory of being alone, not from the pain of the act– not to mention kylo saying he doesnt want to hurt her at all), and then fought her. in every single instance rey was the aggressor/potential aggressor. “kylo is the only one at fault” mentality completely fucking ignores that women can be abusers as well.

tldr: 1) get the fuck out of my inbox because i never asked for your input, 2) if antis actually cared about abuse and rape they wouldn’t ignore all the questionable acts on rey’s part in regards to kylo, 3) saying reylo is abusive twists the actual meaning of abuse and silences real victims when you say kylo’s actions (IN A FUCKING WAR CONTEXT) constitute genuine abuse, and 4) reducing rey’s character to a victim of kylo’s despite him explicitly stating he doesnt want to hurt her AT ALL, and rey beating the shit out of him, completely ignores the fact that women can also be abusive and that men can be victims as well.

am i saying that reylo is abusive because REY abused kylo? no. am i saying that antis twist the actual meaning of abuse in all of its forms to fit their ridiculous agenda? yes.

There is no sex in tfa. Kylo probes reys mind, but thats not an uncommon thing in sw. Plus rey then proceeds to probe kylos mind so with your logic they raped each other. But they didnt, because there was nothing remotely sexual about this. There was no sex, nothing. Kylo was probing her mind to find the map, but he found her personal thoughts instead. And then REY finds HIS very personal and private fear of not being as good as vader. Also im pretty sure in the novelization its stated kylo didnt want to kill rey? She wanted to kill him. He almost killed finn, but didnt do the same to rey- he threw her into the tree to disable her, she posed the biggest threat to him.

She had a ton of openings in her attacks- he could have hurt her then. But he didnt. Instead he tries to reason with her, get her to join him. In the end rey almost kills kylo. Does that mean kylo is innocent? Hell no. But rey isnt innocent either. Theres a good chance rey was as brutal as she was partly because kylo killed han and for all she knew, may have killed finn too. She was mad, and she had a right to be.

Their whole battle isnt as black and white as you like to think. Theyre fighting on opposing sides of a war, of course theyre going to hurt each other. Its kill or be killed, except here kylo didnt want to kill rey. BUT (this is important) rey most likely didnt know that. Kylo was dangerous; he almost killed finn and killed han, the closest thing she had to a father, and threw her into a tree. He kidnapped her and interrogated her, of course she was going to fight him! Its very probable that she thought kylo WAS going to kill her, so she fought back. So yes, rey was defending herself, but she also carved up kylos face. They were fighting a battle on starkiller.

But kylo never raped her. She never raped him. Star wars is just as much as a childrens franchise as it is an adults. They would not put rape in a movie that first graders are watching.

Stop cherrypicking. Many people like reylo because of the dynamic- rey does have darkness in her (she carved up kylo like a christmas ham) and kylo also has some light in him (he didnt kill rey when he could have). They are similar- both feel lonely, both have internal conflict. And kylo sees that when he probes reys mind. Many shippers see that dynamic, and see potential in how their relationship will grow and change. And you antis just cant see that potential. You see it as black and white- reys good and innocent and kylos evil and bad, and ignore the actual conflict the characters themselves face.
