With Rey, he’d knocked her out. She was tied up. He could have done anything to her. 

He never laid a finger on her. 

And, at the end, in their fight, his whole argument was trying to convince her: “Come over to my side! I can teach you! We can be together that way!”

But the point is: He only ever wanted her to come over willingly. 

When even villainous intergalactic overlords know about basic consent. 

i think you missed the point. people say his interrogation is a metaphor for rape. he enters rey’s mind without her consent. and i guess you could say he never laid a finger on her technically?? except for when he force threw her against a tree to injure her and tried to kill her with a lightsaber

This^^. Even JJ said it was mental rape for entering his mind without her consent. Re//los will always pretend JJ never said that.

A) There’s actually no evidence from a credible source that JJ ever said that.

B) Comparing this to rape is an insult to actual rape victims. Comparing it to rape doesn’t make sense either. Because then you would have to believe that Rey raped Kylo back when she turn the tables around and was in his head and saw his fears about never being as strong as Vader, and whatever else she retrieved from his mind. 

You would have to believe that everyone who has ever used mind tricks in Star Wars is a rapist.

C) Kylo never tried to kill Rey. His whole goal was to get her on his side, killing her would defeat the purpose. 

I guess the OP’s point is that Kylo never physically touched Rey in a sexual violating manner, not that he never hurt Rey using the force. He definitely did. But yeah that’s to be expected, they are on opposite sides of a war.

Where I disagree with the OP is where she tries to imply that all of Kylo’s actions were with consent, which is just untrue. He brought Rey on his ship without consent, and he entered her mind to retrieve the map without consent. 

That said, none of those things are equal to rape.

LOL, a real life equivalent to the mind probe would be reading a persons secret diary without their permission, while whacking them over the head with it at intervals…it can’t be compared to rape, because then that would mean Rey also raped Kylo back, and a rape victim can’t rape back their rapist in defence. LOL

Yup, you will never hear of a rape victim raping someone back and it being considered “self defense”, no. That’s why this type of logic is ridiculous. I really wish some would stop with this nonsense.

Also I just saw someone saying: “And you saw what Poe looked like when Kylo was done with him, completely passed out and nearly dead. That’s what Kylo wanted to do to Rey.”

Uh no. The film made it a point to show how Kylo treated everyone else in comparison to Rey. He was pretty ruthless to Poe. Whereas he feels compassion for Rey, this is canon. Not only is it in the novelization, but there was a scene filmed in TFA where Snoke accuses Kylo of having compassion for her. It was kind of obvious, guys..

Wow!!! So now the Jedi mind trick is the equivalent of rape? So I guess people like Professor Charles Xavier, Jean Grey and Elizabeth Braddock are also rapists…wow! I learn something new everyday!

Actually, I’ve always wanted story-tellers to deal more critically with the moral repercussions of compulsion-like powers (TVD vampires, Jedi mind trick, Xavier’s powers, etc) because after all, Imperio is ranked up there with torture and murder for a reason. Taking someone’s will is an extreme invasion that while impossible in reality (yet… ominous soundtrack) should carry sufficient weight in fictional verses. 

But the funny thing is that what Kylo does to Rey isn’t even as invasive as Obi-Wan’s “these are not the droids you are looking for”. He breaks into her mind and steals information. He doesn’t make her give it to him willingly. He doesn’t re-arrange her psyche to obey without resistance. 

So basically, I’m pointing out in a roundabout way that even if you were to use the rape analogy of compulsion, that’s not what went on between Kylo and Rey. And as has been pointed out already - she chases him right out of her head and into his own.
